In recent times, blogging has become more and more accessible, therefore making it much easier for anyone to start. Because of this, teenagers such as me have found blogging to be a great way of making money online, and because of this we’ve recently seen a huge surge in the amount of teenage bloggers, all trying to make it with the big guys.
Today I was lucky enough to secure an interview with Alex Fraiser, a fifteen year old blogger who is incredible at what he does. His blog, Blogussion.com, is always updated with some incredibly written content and has a great community spirit going on. Alex continues to show big potential for the blogging world, so to get this interview I was really chuffed… hope you enjoy it!

Hi Alex, and thanks for the interview. Tell us a bit about yourself…
I’m Alex, 15 year old living in New Jersey. I first got into blogging about a year ago, but had already been into web design a year before that. I first got interested in forums for a while and would usually spend my online time working on a free hosted forum. But I eventually grew out of forums, and turned to blogging as I had no success whatsoever with forums. And here I am today with the best attempt at a successful blog I’ve ever had.
Successful blog, eh? What’s that all about then?
My blog is called Blogussion, and it’s basically a blog about blogging. We share all kinds of blogging tips and tricks with people based off of the experiences we’ve had as bloggers. This has to be my favourite blog I have ever made, and I think it is fairly successful. Well, it is a success in my eyes because of the fun I’ve had with it, and also the people who stop by. We get some good discussions going in each post, and that is something not a lot of bloggers get. I think that our content is always of great quality, and our design is just amazing and efficient at displaying our content.
Any future plans for Blogussion you want to tell us about?
Well, in the very near future I see a revised design and some amazing content. But I think I will stick with Blogussion for a very long time, so I would like to think that in the future we would earn the respect of some top bloggers and get the message across that teenage bloggers have what it takes to be as great as anyone older. I think Blogussion will be even more successful in the coming months, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
As a teenager, what do you think of the new breed of teenage bloggers?
I always think it’s cool to see other teenage bloggers around, especially other 15 year olds like me. I think it’s good to start out young and learn everything at a young age. It will pretty much give you a head start if you ever set out to be a professional blogger. I think having teenage bloggers is just what the blogosphere needs, because nothing beats hearing from an adult “oh wow, a kid did that!?”
Finally, what do you see for the future of blogging?
I think blogging will still be the thing to do for a long time, and I’m sure that there will always be some new crazy ways to do it. I don’t see blogging going anywhere any time soon, and that’s how I think it will stay.

Alex!!!!! Rocking interview dude
Rock on!!
To everyone, I must say Alex is one of the most KICK ASS and best bloggers and designers I have ever met. And a horribly nice guy too.

Thanks Farrhad, I have to say that I enjoy every discussion we have on MSN (especially yesterday, haha). But I have so much to learn from you, and I do every time I speak with you.
Catch you later bro (sick comment by the way :p :p)

But that’s sick to hear bro, it’s an awesome word. :p

Great interview Alex. I can’t wait to see how your career turns out. Something tells me that one day I will tell my kids that I talked to you(virtually), and they will be in awe.
Bring on the teen bloggers. In our kids generation I bet blogging will be like the Myspace and Facebook of today-everyone will have one.
teenwebguru’s last blog post..My Step by Step List
Owning a blog is becoming more and more accessible, and every teenager loves money. I think when they realise that you can earn from blogging, we’ll see even more teenagers dropping their Xbox 360s and starting some blogs.
Yea, defenitly. Blogging also gives you a lot of pride. Nothing feels better than many people telling you how great your blog is.
Blogging also improves your writing skills. I hope to publish a books one day, and since I have been writing or blogging on the web my writing has improved.
teenwebguru’s last blog post..My Step by Step List
Same thing here. I was getting a B grade in English, then since I started article writing and eventually blogging, I’m now an A/A* student
It definately helps with your studies, and when you’re young learning is much more important than making money
Not to brag, but English has always been a strong subject for me. But, blogging has made me a much better writer, thinker, and organizer. Not only has it helped me in English, but in just about every other subject in my school.
I don’t know about blogging helping me study for anything though, because I’d much rather be blogging than studying any day. :p
Alex | Blogussion.com’s last blog post..Dealing With Blogging Challenges You Just Don’t See Coming
Yeah, I often find myself getting distracted by this place and Twitter when I should be doing schoolwork. I dread to think what’s going to happen when my exams come up next month
Money is awesome. I have yet to see a lot of it, but honestly it’s not what is driving me to blog as I do now.
I think if I were to tell people in my school (who think blogging is stupid and lame) that you could make money blogging, not a single person would believe me. But what can I expect when the base blogging off of what they see on Facebook and MySpace (which are jokes).
Alex | Blogussion.com’s last blog post..The Final – Blogger Versus Wordpress.com
Agreed. I find that a lot of teenagers don’t really know about making money online. I’m sure if some teenage pioneers were to spread the word then there’d be thousands of teenagers all coming online.
But, honestly, is that what we want? It’ll steal the light away from us!
I think if news breaks out that a few teenagers make it big through blogging, others will follow. Not to say there aren’t teens who aren’t famous and have inspired others to do the same, but I definitely can see something like that happen.
Alex | Blogussion.com’s last blog post..Dealing With Blogging Challenges You Just Don’t See Coming
That would be quite an accomplishment on my part to have you awe your kids by the mere mention of my name.
It is something I am willing to work at though, haha.

One thumbsdown about blogussion (for me atleast) they have less images with long posts.. so it just bores me up while reading down..

Thanks Enk, I try to add as much personality as I can in my posts. Glad you like it. :p
I’m seriously not going to lie right now, the last time I wrote an actual article on Blogussion I noticed that we have a lot of paragraphs and headings, but few images. Thanks for addressing that, because now I’m going to start using more than just one image.

Agreed. Blogussion is very professional and when I first saw it I honestly thought it was run by some gurus. The design is incredible and the articles are up there with the best I’ve ever seen. Has a really nice community, too
Quite the compliment, means a lot man.
I spend so much time to make it look as “perfect” as I can. I can’t say it’s the greatest habit as a pixel perfectionist, but I honestly go nuts when something doesn’t work right and have to fix it ASAP lol.

Thanks Matt, I do the best job I can on both of my blogs and I appreciate comments like that so much!
It is amazing that Alex is only 15. I have been reading his blog daily for a while and I am vry impressed. In fact, I would rate his blog in the top 3 of the “blogs about blogging” category. My son is 10 and he started blogging this year, I hope in a couple of years he can give you and Alex a run for your money.
Tycoon Blogger’s last blog post..Best of Tycoon Blogger – 100th post
That’s pretty cool to have a 10 year old blogger!
Yeah, I look forward to seeing how he does, and no doubt he’ll catch us up soon
I think it’s ridiculous how kids think it’s a huge accomplishment to start blogging or making money online. It’s nothing complex. It’s not complicated. Learn the material, test it out, it’s a matter of trial and error. It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 100. I don’t like people making it seem like it’s impossible or thinking they’re special because they’re younger and doing it.
I became financially independent at age 15 – but not because I sold myself on the fact that I’m young. Anyone, of any age, with the right amount of effort can become successful.
You have your opinion and that’s fine, but you know what? It IS an accomplishment. The fact that I am a young blogger, it’s meaningless to me – but when others who are older than I am see it, some of them get inspired and want to or wish they started when they were my age. But I guess I am ridiculous person for that, my bad bro.
This comment was longer, but I decided to leave it at that. Hope you see this…
Well said Alex!
At the risk of sounding old – I am in my twenties by the way – it is great to see young ‘uns with such get up and go. Motivation like this gives us hope for the up and coming generation.
[...] Interview with Alex Fraiser (15 Year Old Blogger) [...]
A 15 years old successful blogger? very cool! i’m 18 but i’m not as successful as Alex Fraiser or maybe Simon Rogers, :p
