I’ve decided that what Teenius is lacking is a contest, so, here you go! I’ve arranged some awesome prizes, and with the entry being the simplest thing ever, everyone should have a go and see if they can win!
There will be two different competitions running, with details below:
#1 – Top Commentator Contest
This one is quite simple: whoever has the most comments here on Teenius between the time of this post and the 10th of November will win. You can keep track of how you are doing by looking at the top commentator widget in the sidebar.
Guidelines:
- There is to be no spam, and any spammy comments will be deleted and won’t count towards your total comment count.
- The contest will end on the 10th November at midday UK time. Any comments submitted after then will not be counted towards your total comment count.
- It is not compulsory, but it would be appreciated if you signed up for a Gravatar. This not only makes the comment look more attractive, but is also bound to get you better traffic and help towards your branding, so it’s a win-win situation!

The prizes for the top commentator contest are below:
1st prize – Custom Designed Twitter background from Twitart.com worth $88 (more details)
2nd prize – 3 Months Silver Hosting from zykoshost.com worth $17.85 (more details)
#2 – Best Comment Contest
This contest is also quite simple: whoever leaves the highest quality comment in the allocated time period wins. To decide on which is the best comment, I’ll basically see which has the best and most relevant information that could help other readers and encourage conversation.
The guidelines are exactly the same as the last one, so I’m not going to list them out again.

Whilst it is a good way to increase Teenius’ comments count, I also feel that after my recent inactivity on here it’s a good way to get the blog (and myself) back in to shape!

Thanks! I wanted to get some stuff that would actually be useful for the Teenius readers, rather than just getting whatever I could. In my opinion Twitter is one of the best tools, so the top two prizes are devoted to that, and then every blog needs hosting so I’ve got that too!

How do you decide who is going to win the ‘Best Comment’ contest? Does it depend solely on the quality of the comment given? Or is there any other catch?
The decision will be made on several factors. The first, and most important, is how much useful information it contained. The second is length, and the third is how much it provoked discussion.
That said, it’s going to be hard to judge as there have been lots of great comments!
