Recently, I held a ‘mini contest‘ here on Teenius where I asked the readers to submit their best blogging tip in the comment section. There were some extremely high quality entries including some really in-depth tips, making the comment section an absolute pleasure to read.
However, Jordan Cooper and I have chosen our favourite entries:
Jordan’s Choice
Lets start off with the choice of the “guest judge”. To quickly introduce Jordan, he’s a blogger from NotAProBlog.com who I recently interviewed.
He chose an entry from Ruth, which you can see below:
My single biggest tip would be not to give up. I’ve felt like giving up at times, but carrying on has helped me to learn new skills, to learn about the way I work, and to meet people I’d never have had the chance to otherwise.
Jordan liked this entry as it ‘encapsulates everything all in one concept‘. He added that this tip was great because ‘by not giving up, you’ll eventually learn all the skills, meet all the people, learn how you work and so on…
My Choice
My favourite comment is from Liane, and can be read here:
the ultimate blogging tip is about constant innovation. It’s not just about writing on a regular basis, it should go to a progression of a small goal to a bigger goal. That is, to constantly challenge oneself.
The reason why I like this tip is simple… it’s really important to keep driving yourself forward. Never be happy with your blog. You need to always be improving it, seeing if you can find some extra commentors or scrape a few more dollars out of it. There’s always a way to improve!
Once again, I’d like to thank everyone for entering this contest. Hopefully we can all look back on it and see some great blogging tips!

Those are great tips! I think they deserved the win.
DavidJParsons´s last blog ..Growing and Getting Taller Naturally
Two fantastic tips that really provide a platform for a successful blogging career!
Tom | Build That List´s last blog ..Your Small List Can Equal Big Profits
Thanks for the comment, Tom. I think me and Jordan (well, I did at least!) tried to make the tips general to blogging success as a whole rather than a specific way, so hopefully these two tips will be helpful to many!
Oh I didn’t expect this, what a nice surprise
I really loved everyone’s tips actually, it was a great mini contest.
Ruth – Web Career Girl´s last blog ..The Role of Fear for Bloggers, Internet Marketers, Self Employed
Glad you enjoyed the contest, and congratulations! There were some great entries, but me and Jordan (Jordan especially) found yours the best!
Both of blogging advice seems great for me. It make me remember what i should do in blogging.
Dana @ Blogging Update´s last blog ..Effective Way to Learn From Favorite Blogs

I love and totally agree with Jordon’s tip about not to lose hope and carry on !
Enk.´s last blog ..Exclude Categories from RSS Feeds, Search Results, Archives, etc
Yep, it’s a great tip. I think Jordan was just reinforcing Ruth’s tip, but either way it’s awesome advice
Blogging is very difficult to maintain and I agree with those two tips. Actually, I’m following those principles onto my blog. It’s not easy but I tell myself that it’s the only way to go.
Definitely! And I’m glad you have the self-control to carry on going! Sometimes it’s really tempting to give up on the “golden tips”, isn’t it?! :p
Congrats you two; awesome tips!
Dennis Edell´s last blog ..The Time Has Come. The Deal Is Done. It’s Time To Move!!
Without a doubt Innovation is so important. So many people writing about the same thing in the blogosphere.
chester´s last blog ..Natural Remedies For Cold Sores
Yeah. I think ‘innovation’ covers so many things tho, so it’s not a topic which will be repeated in the same way in the same fashion as so many others are!
Oh wow. I actually won. Thanks Simon for choosing my tip. This is just so cool. Haha. Made my day
No problem!

Well thanks Simon for bringing this quality contest which learnt us a lot.. btw who was the guest judge !
p.s Keep up the good contests coming
Hami, as I said in the post it’s Jordan from NotAProBlog.com
I liked these tips because they dealt more with your blogging outlook and practice, rather than anything too specific. It’s important to keep plugging way, to keep writing.
“It’s not writing on a regular basis…” I like the line and I agree with that. Thanks for this advice.

Good tips. Giving up is so common. Bloggers get excited about writing, don’t see hits and then give up. Keep going!
