Some time back I introduced a backlinks tool. Today i will discuss another amazing tool. Yahoo Site Explorer is a great tool for exploring your blog. Just type in the address of your blog and hit “EXPLORE URL”. The results shown are that of Yahoo Search. Yahoo Search and Yahoo directory are two different engines. Yahoo Search is a Search Engine and Yahoo Directory is one of the top 5 directories.
The first number you will see is of the number of pages indexed. Basically, a page is indexed when the page is read by a search engine bot, in this case Slurp. If the number of pages indexed is less than the number of pages you have posted than there is something wrong with your site.
The second number you will note is of “InLinks”. Yahoo calls Back links “InLinks”. There are two types of backlinks/InLinks pointing to your site. The first kin being external links (from other sites) and the other being internal links from within your site.
There are two options for InLinks information. The first option shows you the total Inlinks to your site or in other words shows you the total external links if you select “Except from this domain”. The second option allows you to select the destination of the incoming links.
This is a very powerful FREE Webmaster tool.
Select, Option 1 “Except from this domain” and Option 2 “Entire Site”. This shows you the total external links coming to any page of your site.
Select, Option 1 “Except from this domain” and Option 2 “Only this URL”. This allows you to see the total external links to a particular page of your site.
Select, Option 1 “From all pages” and Option 2 “Entire Site”. This allows you to see the total InLinks (external and internal) to your site site.
Select Option 1 “From all pages” and Option 2 “Only this URL”. This allows you to see all the InLinks (exteranl and internal) to a particular page.
I hope this tool exploration was useful. Guys, don’t forget to tweet this post.
