After going through the article written by my friend, 7 Reasons why should you start Guest Blogging, I am really impressed with the results it can deliver also I have made analysis and found the truth it has helped many to increase their online presence. So following that this is my first guest post and whether is by coincidence, it is Teenius, become my choice for it.

As bloggers, we often look for writing new articles, or writing articles that catches attention. This can be easy for those who are experienced but for some newbie bloggers who are still striving to make them stand out of crowd, isn’t easy. Even I have struggled lot of times to choose what to write next and I have had sleepless nights before the post should be published.

Well, that is past. But, I have some of the techniques that I use for writing my next posts and I am here to share them so that they will be helpful for new bloggers.

#1 Refer your analytics

All the website owners surely have analytics for tracking the visitors, traffic and other stats of their site. If you don’t have such a thing yet, get one. Google Analytics is one of the free analytics service. Analytics can tell you what are the keywords made your site to be found at the search results. This can help you know by what search query your user had reached your site. You can concentrate to write for articles related to those keywords. This helps you in two ways

  1. Improves your ranking for the particular keyword.
  2. Helps you in building a stronger reader base as you are giving what they want.

So, now you have noted what are the keywords that takes the users to the site. Note it down. This will help in the next point.

#2 Use WordTracker Keyword Questions:

You might have known that most articles that succeed has something to teach with, provide solutions for some questions are just like “How to” questions. Whatever they are, people often use search engines for finding the answers. So why not find what they are looking for. A tool from WordTracker labs provides you such a service. It gets one or two words as input and it produces the list of questions asked by people and the number of times it is asked.

This is a simple tool that can give you a glimpse of what to write. Its all yours to change it to a catchy title and producing great content within.

Here is the snapshot of the results produced for the keyword google wave ( of course, this drove me more traffic to my blog)

#3 Use SEO blogger:

SEO Blogger is nothing but a simple Firefox extension that does the work of Keyword Questions of Word tracker. This lets you not to go to the site often and you can get the work done in simple sidebar. Along with giving results for the particular, you can add and save the keywords you wish and can know how many times the word has been used in the article. This is one of the good SEO strategy to optimise for the particular keyword.

Its always upto you to decide which to choose, one that is searched more or the one that is searched less. The one which is searched more possibly has lot of solutions which makes your blog to fall far beyond the results while the one with less frequency of search brings you lesser traffic. Its in your hand to tweak the content and title effectively to attract more visitors.

#4 Google Auto Suggestions:

When the above two tools, gives you result for only the specified keywords and there are not so results will be soon exactly. To be frank, I use Google’s auto suggestion feature to find the topics for what to write next. Simply imagine what are you gonna write about facebook and Google says everything else. Here is the snap of how google helped me.

As I can see some results, its good to choose which will be more effective and more attractive for the current trends.

#5 Use your leisure time

As we will be involved more in Blogging, collecting resources for it, and other works , it is always good to spend some of our time in finding good titles for the our article we write next. The reason why I prefer leisure time is we will be having a calm mind that lets you to browse through a vast range of ideas and select the best one. We may not be tempted to choose anything in hurry. By having a calm mind we can get many points and ideas for the article which will be fresh, new, will be in your own view and unique (yes, Copyscape passed!!). Believe it or not, this had worked wonders for me getting my own thoughts, argue with them and filter the right ones.

#6 Match other niche.

Probably, this may depend on your creativity and the ability to match things with one another. Many of time we have found real time use cases for some of the popular articles. Its happen to be found because of the ability of the people to match one with other. This can help you to find what you can write next. Lets consider, you are interested in web design and used to read related blogs of it. When you come across an article that explains

“Ten best web designs that can inspire you”.

Change it. You got a title to write

“Ten bloggers who can inspire you the most”.

Cool, isn’t it? But, in this case you get only the title but you have to make some research to find the content and of course, finding ten most inspiring bloggers can be a daunting task.

#7 Tweak other posts

You have made a lot of research. Stumbled through lot of pages, searched enough but not found a new or interesting to write about and you are about to go demotivated for writing. Never give up. You can always some articles, that don’t clearly explains what they wish to say, not effective in presenting them to users etc.., Tweak them. Analyse what they have missed and try to give them and make the article a complete one. May be this is controversial and subject to debate. But, anyone can present same content adding some flavor to it. But please don’t copy and insult yourselves as well as other bloggers.

#8 Forums can help you

Lets assume, you have got a topic to write, but not sure what to write because of many reasons.

  1. May be the news is so new and searching and finding about it is not possible
  2. Or you have not sufficient knowledge about it but you can still learn about it

At those times, forums can be of great help. That really makes you to find lot of information. Forums like Digital Point is a place where Techies, experts in various fields interact. Say for example, you want to write Google’s public DNS which is announced today, you can search for it in forums or post your own thread. Wait a day or two, you get sufficient replies, which is good enough to give you content to write. It might sometime surprise you by giving additional points that you might have not heard of or not so publicly announced.

Did I miss something?

Well, as far as said, I have summarised most of the points I use to find titles for my sites and a small detail to find the content too. This might help you. But, wait, I feel like I have not covered some of the very important points. Is it so? Then please feel free to say them in comments. Also let us know what you do for finding what to write and giving them an attractive titles.
