I have been blogging for almost 3 years and I have seen many bloggers come and go. Many bloggers who were doing great, sold their blog or just left their blog. Some of them had better plans and some are not even blogging today. There was a time when I also had to give a long break (almost 4-5 months) to my blogging. Why did it happen?

I had my personal reasons. I got admitted to new college and I had to adjust to the new environment. Also there was the pressure of studies. But all of these are just excuses. The main reason this happened was because I was not well prepared for it. I still have pressure of my studies but now I am well prepared. Are you prepared enough?

From my experience as a blogger, I have found out that preparation is a important key of success, not just for blogging but any other job/work you want to do. You need to be prepared to tackle the upcoming problems. Blogging, as we know, is not an easy task, it needs time, intelligence and preparation.

What does “preparation” mean?

Preparation means being ready to face whatever problem comes your way. And having all required tools ready. For example, imagine that you are going to plant a tree. You collect the tree, pot, water, soil, fertilizers etc. This is preparation.

What is the role of Preparation in Blogging?

Preparation is the first and foremost thing, when you are either starting a new blog, writing a new post or comment. As par as blogging is concerned when you start a new blog, you have to get ready to do all the things necessary to create a successful blog. From investing money and time to answering readers comments. From promotion to SEO. When you start a new post you have to get prepared to accept all criticism and comments.

How does Preparation helps?

When you are better prepared to handle all the upcoming problems, the problem seems small. You are able to solve it quickly. Take for example, you wrote a controversial post and a lot of criticism came as comment. If you not ready for it, you will not be able to defend yourself or accept their points. But if you are prepared you will be able to create a good debatable topic, answer comments well and impress your readers.

Doesn’t it sound similar to Planning?

Yes, it sounds similar to planning but its not the same as preparation. Preparation is having all required ingredients ready and making yourself mentally ready for things to come. Whereas planning is creating alternate solution to tackle upcoming situations. Preparation comes much before even planning takes place.

How can I prepare myself?

Its a difficult question to answer. Every individual has different potential and a different method to tackle situations. And there no specific way to prepare. You will have to learn it by yourself. Make it a daily routine. Mentally prepare yourself while going to school/work. You will slowly learn to do it unconsciously.

Never forget, preparation is a important key for success in blogging. Always ask yourself if you are prepared enough. If you are ready, go and do the job, you are bound to get bettter results.
